Office Games for Large Groups: Plans for 50, 100 and 200 Employees
8 min read · By the Employee Engagement India wellness team
Quick answer
Large-group office games work best when employees play in smaller teams at the same time. Use a quiz for seated groups, a paper-building challenge for table teams, or a station rotation when you have enough space and facilitators. Avoid elimination games that leave most people watching.

Key takeaways
- Split large groups into teams of 6–10 as a planning starting point
- Choose simultaneous participation rather than a single stage game
- Check sound, sightlines and accessible routes
- Keep personal information out of game prompts
Choose the format by group size
For 50 people, five to eight table teams can share one host if instructions are simple. For 100 people, use table captains and a central scoring sheet. For 200 people, consider separate batches or zones with additional facilitators. These are sample plans, not guaranteed staffing ratios.
- 50 employees: table quiz or paper-tower collaboration
- 100 employees: company-safe trivia with written answers and a scoreboard
- 200 employees: parallel quiz zones or rotating stations with a coordinator
Game 1: inclusive team trivia — 20 to 30 minutes
Prepare three rounds of five questions covering general knowledge, visual puzzles and harmless office facts. Give every team the same answer sheet. Award one point per correct answer and use a pre-written tie-break question.
Read questions aloud and show them on screen. Avoid insider jokes, private employee details and questions that reward only one language or department.
Game 2: paper tower — 25 to 35 minutes
Give each table identical paper and tape. Allow five minutes to plan, ten to build and five to test freestanding towers. Score against the rules announced at the start, such as stability and height; add a short reflection on how teams shared decisions.
Keep construction on tables, not chairs. Participants can contribute as planners, builders, timekeepers or presenters without having to move around the room.
Game 3: collaborative puzzle stations — 40 to 60 minutes
Create equal-duration stations with a logic puzzle, a visual matching task and a shared construction task. Rotate teams on a visible timer and record scores consistently. Run a practice round to check that every station takes roughly the same time.
Use wide routes, seated alternatives and clear signs. If movement is impractical, pass activity packs between tables instead of moving people.
A sample 60-minute agenda
- 0–10 minutes: welcome, team allocation and accessible participation options
- 10–20 minutes: practice round and first challenge
- 20–45 minutes: main rounds with consistent scoring
- 45–55 minutes: final challenge and tie-break if needed
- 55–60 minutes: recognition and one-question feedback
What to include in your organiser brief
Specify headcount, floor plan, table sizes, time available, languages, microphone and screen access. Ask how the host manages late arrivals, ties, noise and participants who prefer a non-competitive role. Confirm materials, setup time and the number of facilitators in writing.
